How do you know you have an erosion? Sudden increase of pain and light sensitivity are useful signs. If you suspect an erosion, it's a good idea to see the doctor.
In uncontrolled dry eye conditions, when the epithelium is fragile and the tear film poor, erosions are always a danger. Not merely failure to care for the eyes, but any adverse environment may place them at risk, such as air travel which notoriously dries the eyes. (Even my 2-year-old complaints of sore eyes after a transatlantic flight.) |
