Spots or lesions on the epithelium (surface of the cornea) which may be caused by drying of the cornea or by trauma.
DISCUSSION
SPK is common in patients with chronic dry eye. It is characterised by very small dry spots on the epithelium, as opposed to the larger defects called erosions or abrasions.
